The key qualities are a killer instinct mixed with a GREAT sense of FUN and respect for your opponents abilities. That means we play to win, but only to maximise the level excitement and enjoyment. All winning and losing is done with a handshake and a smile!
Our games each Wednesday at Concord are for all levels, however you will need to be reasonably fit, have good coordination and not be afraid to move quickly and possibly break into a sweat. Courts will be graded according to ability and you should play most games against others of a similar ability.
Note that our events are run at or near cost price. The amount you pay will depend on the number of players who show up. There is a non-member booking fee of £1 per event.

In the lovely setting of Millhouses Park for those long summer evenings!
All standards catered for although it helps if you've hit a ball before!!
Play usually continues until dusk when we retire to the local 'Wagon and Horses' pub for some refreshments. (Alternatively you can come for a walk and doze in the park and join us for a beer later.)

So let's do something different, let's go to the Zing Vaa Chinese Restaurant on The Moor. Let's buy some EuroMillions lottery tickets and see whether by doing something different, we'll get a different result.

. Well we're not insane are we?
To change our luck we have to change what we do!
Do you want to join our EuroMillions Lottery Syndicate for one night? It will cost just £1.50 and who knows what might happen? Entry fee must be paid and syndicate agreement must be signed before the night!

Chinese Buffet and Jazz

A strange sounding combination, admittedly, but if we begin with a Chinese buffet at Jumbo's or Oriental No.1, then trip merrily to Trippet's Wine Bar on Trippet Lane to hear some live jazz, a happy time could be had by all. There are several music venues on Trippet Lane if the jazz isn't up to scratch.
Kinder Scout from Edale

Edale Pay and Display Car Park
A 9 mile classic hike in the Dark Peak starting in Edale and heading west on the Pennine Way to Upper Booth. We climb Jacob's Ladder to Edale Cross and then head north to Kinder Low and Kinder Downfall. Finally we cross Kinder Scout back to Fox Holes and Edale.
It is quite a climb and a fair distance and I anticipate the walk will take us somewhere around 5 hours. Please read our walk guidelines and come prepared for extremes of weather (hot sun hopefully but otherwise wind and rain!)
On this occasion I will ask participants to sign a disclaimer to be sure walkers understand that this is not a professionally led walk and that everyone certifies themselves to be sufficiently equipped and fit to complete the planned route and unforeseen changes.
On a good summer's day you can't beat being in the hills ... fingers crossed those hills won't test our limits too much!

On the fourth Friday of the month this Autumn join the Fortune8 for a special buffet meal at Zing Vaa. For just £16 experience an "eat all you can" luxury buffet, take part in the EuroMillions lottery syndicate and make a donation to the less fortunate.
It's a bit of fun, it's a good cause and who knows how your luck may change?
